Hello World!
From now on -starting from the 7th week of the program- I will be delivering the details about our group work. In the second phase of our training we are supposed to create a website based upon to topics that we discussed during the sessions.
At the beginning of this week, maybe even before, we decided on the topic of our website. To be honest we were more than sure about the topic but we needed to find an implication about it. After some retouches we ended up with 'English as a Global Language'.
We thought that this topic is pretty much close to what we learnt during the sessions of the teacher training program so we are in a way lucky to choose it. I personally believe that, we'll be able to present our stance on the website that we will have created at the end of the training program as smooth as possible.
On the other hand I am so happy to work with my group members I think we have good rapport. Our group consists of two 4th graders -including me- and two 3rd graders and we all get on very well and open to new ideas. As far as I observed, no one is trying to run away from the work-load and this is one of the most important things while working in a group. We all have high responsibility for the to do list :)
At the last meeting we scheduled towards the midst of the week, we did the role distribution. First of all we started to identify the subtopics when we were done with it, we basically ended up exactly with four subtopics and we were a bit surprised about it. With the help of a calendar, we tried to set some dates for certain works. It seemed a bit hard to finish the website on time since we have only 5 weeks to finish it and the first week already went away with planning and deciding upon the topic of our website. But we all tried to encourage ourselves bit by bit since we all are aware that we have enough capacity to manage!
The day after, we had a meeting with our instructor to be super sure about what we decided to do and with some minor changes and clarifications we truly knew what to do. I also would like to thank our instructor for supporting us.
On the last day of the week we were able to agree upon the theme of our website since you know... Aesthetics plays an important role we want an attractive website of course.
I'll be busy with meeting the deadlines we set from now on I hope to come back to you, my dear reader, with many good news the next week! Till then!
